Chinese Valentine's Day
It's the most romantic day of the year in China: Qingxiao Festival, or Double Seven Festival. Named after the date it falls on (the seventh day of the seventh month), Qixi is a holiday representing a love story between a cowherd and a fairy. The two meet on the Qixi Bridge on the Double Seven Festival every single year. Today, it's celebrated by Chinese couples all over the world as a day to express love and exchange gifts, much like Valentine's Day in the Western world. Qixi falls on 10 August in 2024.
